APULEIUS PLATONICUS

INCIPIT HERBARIUM, 1481

Chamomile herb, drunk in wine, was supposed to expel bladder stones.

The entries in Old Spanish script come from an attentive reader who reconciled the work to his own needs with these "marginal notes".

The note "Manzanilla" refers to a dry white wine which is produced in Andalusia. Apparently, the former owner was self-taught and put recommendations into practice.
